Injured ibrahimovic promise to come back better and stronger

Swedish football great Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he will surprise many by performing better for Manchester United than he did before suffering a serious knee injury earlier this year . The 35 -year - old veteran striker — who defied the critics in scoring 28 goals for United last season , including crucial goals in their Community Shield and League Cup victories — told ‘Inside United ’ he had not let the ligament injury get him down. Ibrahimovic enjoys a good relationship with United manager Jose Mourinho , who maintained contact with him during his rehabilitation , and the Portuguese decided it was worth offering him a new one year contract last month. Mourinho believes Ibrahimovic will offer strong competition to Romelu Lukaku — the Swede could be back in action as early as November — for the striking role , even though the Belgian has begun impressively since his £ 75 million ( $ 97 .6 million , 82 .5 million euros ) move from Everton . “I feel good ,” said Ibrahimovic. “I have...

The President is a joke- neymar blast barcelona president Bartomeu

The PSG attacker didn't hold back in his criticism of the Catalan club's head man in a comment on social media. Neymar has slammed Josep María Bartomeu on Instagram, calling the Barcelona president a "joke" for comments made about the Brazil star and his father. The 25-year-old completed a move to Paris Saint-Germain last month after the French side paid his €222 million release clause, shattering the record for the most expensive signing in history. Bartomeu was clearly left dismayed by the antics of Neymar and his father and agent Neymar Santos Sr., who was a driving force behind the move to Paris. "We made the mistake of trusting Neymar and his father too much," Bartomeu said. When an Instagram account posted Bartomeu's quote, Neymar couldn't help but respond in the comments section, saying: "This president is a joke". Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele to help replace the Brazilian, who is off to a fast start in his time at PSG...

Negotiate with Nnamdi kanu-Obasanjo tells Buhari

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to dialogue with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu , to curb the secessionist agitations instead of the deployment of soldiers in the South- East . Obasanjo said this during an interview with the Newsweek Magazine . The former President said , “I don ’t see anything wrong in that ( Buhari meeting with Kanu ) . I would not object to that ; if anything , I would encourage it. “I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his age , ( and ask ) ‘What are your worries ?’ Not only from the South- East but from all parts of Nigeria ( sic ) . ” Obasanjo, who led the final offensive that brought the civil war to an end in 1970 , said he had seen too many wars and it was time for Nigeria to move on . He said he believed that enough dialogue had not been done by both the government and several groups . The former President, however ...

Why more kids now put on glasses

During the Sunday school class in a Pentecostal church two weeks ago , Tomiwa , 11 , was called upon by the coordinator of that session to read a verse in the Bible. Having been relaxed and certainly not expecting to be called , more so that there were many other Bible scholars around , she began to scramble for her eyeglasses . Until her elder sister , who sat close to her , helped her to locate the eyeglasses , tucked somewhere in her bag , Tomiwa struggled to read the Bible passage, slowly, because she had to bring the Bible very close to her eyes , about five inches away . But when her sister located the eyeglasses and handed it over to her, she heaved a sigh of relief and began reading the passage with ease . And on a closer look, the thickness of the lenses would make it clear to anyone who bothered to look that it was beyond fashion . In the past, like decades ago, the likes of Tomiwa had nothing to do with eyeglasses ; it wasn ’t for children, and if they were to wear an...

Nigerian men are not romantic-simi

As much as she has been rumoured to have had one or two things with singers , Adekunle Gold and Falz at some point, popular singer , Simi, has said Nigerian men “are not romantic .” She said , “I don’t believe Nigerian men are romantic . I think Nigerian men do not think they have to be romantic . I am not saying this to bash men but I think no one pushes Nigerian men to fight for anything so they have this sense of entitlement . I was watching a Nigerian movie one day and there was this unfaithful Nigerian man who left his wife for another woman. At the end of the day , the other woman left him and he retraced his steps to his initial wife . The lady ’s mother actually told her to kneel in front of the man and that bothered me a lot even though I knew it was a movie. That is the way things are. “A lot of men grow up in this country feeling entitled to certain things and they believe that they don’t have to work for anything . This has been th...
