Police deploy 8,000 men over NLC protest in Kaduna

 The  Nigeria police have deployed 8, 000 personnel across Kaduna metropolis ahead of the protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) over the sack of 36,000 civil servants by Gov Nasir El-Rufa’i.  The  heavily armed security personnel were stationed at the NLC headquarters along Independence Way and strategic areas of the metropolis while others were patrolling the town.  Police  The police and other security personnel were also stationed along major streets in the city including Kaduna-Kachia road, Kaduna-Zaria highway and Kaduna-Abuja expressway.  Most streets were empty with minimal vehicular movement due to the high presence of security personnel within the town, with few commercial vehicles plying the roads.  The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba is expected to lead other union members from across the country to protest the mass sack of workers by the state government.  However, the police and state government on Wednesday annou...

FRSC nabs prophet,and his driver with decomposing human head in uyo (Read)

A prophet and his driver were caught with a decomposing human head at Mbak in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State by officials of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC. The prophet, identified as Israel, and his driver, Effiong, are now cooling their heels at the Police Divisional Office’s cell at Itu, while the vehicle, a black Toyota four-runner SUV with number plates DX 147 LSD is in FRSC custody.  The Sector Commander, S. S. Oil&Gas:DPR seals three gas stations in Lagos

After sanctioning filling stations in Zamfara, Abuja and Kaduna, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Wednesday sealed three filling stations in Ibeju-Lekki and Epe in Lagos State for allegedly hoarding and selling fuel above the approved pump price. Mr Igheghe Abel, Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Department, who led the team, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that two filling stations were sealed in Epe and one in Ibeju-Lekki. Abel said the stations were sealed for hoarding and selling petrol at N170 per litre which is above the official pump price. He accused TAS Nigeria Ltd in Epe of hoarding over 12,000 litres of petrol as at the time the DPR team visited the station, claiming its generator was faulty. “But we got information from motorists that they were selling at N170 per litre. President buhari                                                                                                   In the wake of outrage forced by the killings in Benue, Taraba and Adamawa States by herdsmen, a Presidential spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina, has frowned at those accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of condoning the massacres occasioned by farmers/herdsmen conflicts across the country. Adesina, who is the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a video message he posted on his personal Facebook account on Wednesday in Abuja, dismissed the insinuations that the President was condoning the killing because he is a Fulani man.
